£1.92 for a litre of diesel.
At fucking Tescos, thought they would have been cheapest!

What happened to 5p we were promised?

What are the prices like round your neck of the woods?

It's the way forward, twoleftfeet. I'd have never have said that 2 or 3 years ago.

We're a country that's perfectly set up to use electric cars as well, as we're tiny. So you shouldn't be too far from a charging point.

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
I think the fast charge is the game changer for my company, their concern was having us sitting around for a number of hours charging the cars up.

Plus I am paying about £6k in tax on the bloody car!

And to think the large scale fuel protests of 2000 were prompted by the prospect of petrol reaching 80p a litre.

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
Cost of Electric public charging has gone up same as petrol/diesel? Most don't have a garage/drive. Electric range anxiety seems to be a problem with lack of chargers (unless in city centre) and others not working or queues with long waits and fines. Seems unless you spend big range is also too low 50-100 miles. Then if the electrics/motor goes wrong no-one has the experience to find faults work/repair them so replace all components unnecessarily with huge bills. Expensive special tyres can also wear through quick due to battery weight.

MATE picked us up in his new VW Electric the other day... have to say pretty impressed... 300+ miles range... from flat to full battery charging at home reckons costs him £15.00... and it's like shit off a shovel...

Re: £1.92 for a litre of diesel.
I lease mine, so thankfully don't have to deal with any of that.

50-100 miles range?! Not sure what vehicles those are.

I also have a petrol vehicle, just in case. But it's never been needed so far.

Costs me £3.17 to charge 80% overnight, and that does me for 288 miles.

£2 per litre is nothing. I'd easily pay five times that and would barely notice.

This reminds me of that (I think) Harry Enfield 'randy old ladies' sketch.

(Watching TV) shouts out: "Butter's gorn up"

(Replying from another room) "Are you watching the budget?"

"Nah, Last Tango in Paris"

288 miles. How does that reduce on motorway with Aircon or heating on?

Not enough for me to notice.

I also rarely travel long distances.
